The Urban Trees app enables users to identify trees in their vicinity by utilizing their iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch.

To identify a tree, simply point your device at it. The app will utilize Augmented Reality (AR) to show a label indicating the tree's species. (Use the map view if necessary...)
Tapping on the label reveals the Wikipedia page for that tree species.
In addition to the AR mode, Urban Trees also includes a map mode. Notes:
Urban Trees uses OPEN DATA instead of image recognition, providing accurate details on the location and species of every PUBLIC tree in the supported cities.</lu>
If the label locations in AR are inaccurate, refer to the help section within the app.

Apple Watch The Apple Watch displays a map featuring the five nearest trees. Tapping on the screen reveals the species of these trees. iPad & GPS Please note: only iPad models with cellular capability have built-in GPS. Less is More No advertisements No collection of private data No requirement for accounts or logins No in-app purchases (though tips are appreciated...)
